Who We Are

Our homes are built almost entirely by volunteers. Whether you are a contractor, a DIYer, or have never picked up a hammer in your life, we need your help. Habitat brings families, community partners and volunteers together to construct affordable, energy-efficient homes that help families build stability, strength and self-reliance.

What We Do

  • Minimum age: All volunteers must be 16 years of age or older to volunteer on a construction site, 18+ to work on the roof or use power tools. Volunteers who are 14+ may participate on Landscaping days. All volunteers must sign a waiver prior to starting their first shift.
  • Clothing: Volunteers must wear closed-toed shoes.  Volunteers should wear comfortable clothing that they don't mind getting dirty.  Dress appropriately for the weather and keep in mind that neither indoor nor outdoor work sites have heat or air conditioning.
  • Lunch is not provided, please bring a packed lunch and water
  • Groups Spending a day on a Habitat build is a great way for companies, community organizations, or a group of friends to help make the dream of home ownership a reality for families living in need. What better way to learn the value of team building, co-operation, and leadership than by working with your co-workers and peers on a HFHGC build site? To organize a group day, please contact Chris Edwards at  cedwards@habitatgreenville.org
